Edward Perry Austin Jr., 63, of Hatteras, N.C., died Thursday, March 2, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Austin was born in Hatteras and was retired from the U.S. Park Service. He was a member of Hatteras United Methodist Church. Mr. Austin was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Coast Guard. He was the son of the late Perry Austin and the late Mildred Gaskins Austin.
Mr. Austin is survived by three sisters, Murrell Howell of both Hatteras and Philadelphia, Pa., Elida Staggs of Sioux City, Iowa, and Roberta Schaap of Virginia Beach, Va.
A church service will be conducted on Sunday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in the Hatteras United Methodist Church by the Revs. James Huskins and Don Brown. Burial will follow in the Austin Cemetery, Hatteras, N.C. The family will receive friends at the Twiford Island Chapel, Hatteras, on Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at the family home at other times. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, is in charge of arrangements.
