Truck drivers Ben Heggie, left, and Shannon Allen, both of Nags
Head, seek shelter on the leeward side of a truck during a chilly
March breeze Thursday at Ocracoke. As a result of heavy traffic,
their trucks couldn't fit on the Ocracoke-Hatteras ferry, delaying
their deliveries. The ferry Kinnekeet, left background, arrived at
Ocracoke to take more passengers across Hatteras Inlet.
