MARY LOVELL JOHNSON

Mary Lovell Johnson, 90, died Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at Stanleytown Health Care.

Born Nov. 28, 1904 in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Peter Lovell and Maude Craddock Lovell. She was the widow of Oker H. Johnson. She was a retired nurse, working for many years at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County. A charter member of Fort Trial Christian Church, she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship and was also active in Piedmont Regional Senior Citizens.

Surviving are two daughters, Mildred Gordon of Norfolk and Nellie Cucinotta of Virginia Beach; two sons, Rudolph L. Johnson and Paul C. Johnson of Bassett; three sisters, Alta Haley Andes, Eva Shropshire and Fairy Pettus, all of Martinsville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Fort Trial Christian Church with the Rev. R.D. Ray and Dr. Dolph Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund. Collins Funeral Services, Bassett, is in charge of arrangements.
