Bessie Sumerell Barwick, 91, of the 100 block of Granby Park, died Thursday, March 2, 1995.
Mrs. Barwick was the widow of Robert Jack Barwick. She had been a first grade teacher in the Norfolk School System for 40 years. She was a member of Colonial Christian Church; past president of the Crosby Garden Club; Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline B. Parker of Smithfield, Va.; and two grandchildren, Chris Lacey of Darnestown, Md. and Pattie Parker of Smithfield, Va.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Riverside Christian Church Cemetery, Grifton, N.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Howard-Carter & Stroud Funeral Home, Kinston, N.C.
