Horace Lamont Hassell of the 1000 block of W. 35th St., a painter, died March 2, 1995, in the Hampton V.A. Hospital.
Mr. Hassell was born in Norfolk and was a Baptist. He was an Army veteran and recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.
Survivors include his mother, Evalena Hassell, and father, Horace Hassell Sr., both of Norfolk; three sisters, Sandra Little, Darlene Tucker and Denise Anderson, all of Norfolk; a brother, LaVern Hassell of Virginia Beach; and maternal grandmother, Mary Wyne of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The remains will be ready for viewing Sunday at 4 p.m. The family will assemble at 3542 Tennessee Ave. at 11 a.m. for the processional.
