RETHA W. TURNER

Retha W. Turner of the 1400 block of Ramsey Rd. in Norfolk, Va., died in her home on Thursday, March 2nd.

Mrs. Turner was born in Washington, N.C. She was a member of the Bayview Baptist Church. She was the widow of Clyde Turner and the daughter of Lina Jane Whitaker and William J. Whitaker (both deceased).

She is survived by her only child, Lillian Jane Massey, a son-in-law, Richard E. Massey, Sr., a grandson, Richard E. (Dickie) Massey, Jr. (all of Norfolk, Va.), one sister, Mrs. Maedell Wilkins of Leesburg, Fla., and one brother, Mr. Herman Whitaker of Eugene, Ore.

She leaves behind many loving friends and in-laws, including Mrs. Gloria Whitaker, Mr. Marvin Ross, Mr. Kenneth Wilkins, Mrs. Jean Swanick, Mrs. Bertha Boyd, Mrs. Charlotte Levin, Mrs. Gladys Hudson, Mrs. Anita Wright, Ms. Sharon McCray, Mrs. Campin Price, Mrs. Irene Byrd, Mrs. Lisa Romano, Ms. Sallie Smith, Ms. Donna Standin, Mrs. Diane Suffa and Mrs. Margaret Jenkins, and all the kind and loving friends from the Martha Sunday School Class. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, including Mr. Wayne M. Ross, Mrs. Sandra W. Myers, Mrs. Judy W. Geiger and Mrs. Jean W. Marquis.

The family will be at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday night. A graveside service will be conducted by the Revs. Hennie Becker and V.E. Byrd at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Monday, the 6th of March at 11 a.m. (time may change).
