Dixie Burrus Browning and Mary Burrus Williams, the Outer Banks sister writing team using the name Bronwyn Williams, have featured Avon in their latest novel.
Their eighth book, ``Bedeviled,'' is set in a village that would be unrecognizable to most people today. Much of the action in the 1830 historical romance takes place in an area known as The Glade. The book is dedicated to the late Ellis Gray of Avon, who first told Williams about The Glade.
While Dixie, who divides her time between Winston-Salem and Buxton, was working on the book, Mary, who lives in Buxton, was busy plotting their next book, tentatively scheduled for publication in February of '96, set in the Lake Drummond area of the Great Dismal Swamp.
The award-winning writing team has written six historical novels for Harlequin, all of which are set in the Albemarle/Pamlico region of Eastern North Carolina. Their seventh historical novel, ``The Warfield Bride,'' a '94 release from Dutton/Signet, is set in a U.S. Life Saving Station on Hatteras Island in the year 1899. by CNB
