A 32-year-old man who was found shot in a car in the 800 block of Denison Ave. Thursday night has been identified as Dennis P. Bascom, police said Friday.
Bascom, of the 1400 block of Kingston Ave., was found by police and rescue personnel at 7:57 p.m. after they responded to what appeared to be a serious traffic accident.
The 1980 Ford station wagon Bascom was driving had crashed into a parked car. When paramedics began to work on Bascom, they discovered he had been shot. He died a short time later at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Police have no witnesses or suspects and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Line at 441-5100.
