Orders to U.S. factories rose 0.6 percent in January, the smallest advance in three months. The Commerce Department said Friday that orders for durable and non-durable goods totaled a seasonally adjusted $301.3 billion, up from $299.5 billion in December. The advance was about twice what analysts had expected, but suggested the manufacturing sector may be slowing after seven interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve in the last year.
