Douglas Thomas Claybone, Sr., 76, died March 4, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Home, Norfolk.
Mr. Claybone was born in Oxford, N.C. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years and was former owner and operator of Claybone Sunoco for 25 years. He was a member of Ocean View Senior Citizens Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars (NU)60. He was a Southern Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ray L. Claybone; three daughters, Juanita R. Wiltshire and husband James of Virginia Beach, Claudette L. Claybone of Richmond, and Lisa Ann and husband Rick Corsini of Centerville, Va.; a son, Douglas Thomas Claybone, Jr. and wife, Gwen Claybone, of Virginia Beach; a sister, Jackie Weekland of Barnesboro, Pa.; two brothers, Ban Claybone and Ernest Claybone, both of Grifton, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Charles Wood. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
