Lillian Payne Sawyer, 73, of Route 1, Fairfield, died March 5, 1995, in Greenville, N.C.
She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Sudie Williams Payne and was born in Gum Neck, N.C. She was the widow of Alfred Grealy Sawyer who died in 1992.
Surviving are a son, John Wade Spencer of Hertford; brother, J. Hugh Payne of Virginia Beach; half-brother, Steve Payne of Fairfield; half sisters, Patricia Gibbs of Fairfield and Beadie Gibbs of Engelhard; two grandchildren; and beloved nephew, Tony M. Aaron of Virginia Beach. Preceding Mrs. Sawyer in death were a sister, Edith ``Peachie'' Aaron in 1985 and brother, Everett Payne in 1974.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Burial will be in Fulford Cemetery. The family will be at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and will assemble at the church at 11 a.m. to the hour of service on Wednesday.
