Carlton Lee Gill Sr., 66, a retired program manager, died March 5, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mr. Gill was born in Richmond and was a member of Camden United Methodist Church in Camden, N.C. He was retired from the NALC DET East Naval Air Station and was a retired senior chief petty officer of the Naval Air Reserves and a Navy veteran of World War II with 38 years of combined service. He was president of the United Methodist Men of Camden; past master of Ocean View Masonic Lodge (NU)335 AF & AM, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies; John Walters Chapter of Royal Arch (NU)68, Khedive Shrine Temple; past president of the Ocean View Shrine Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (NU)3160.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Esther Ballance Gill; three children, Donna Gill Pendergrass and husband David, Darlene Gill Chambers and husband Robert, and Carlton Lee Gill Jr. and wife Joann; and four adorable grandchildren, Carlton III, Lauren, Alexandra and Christina.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Glenn Everett. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to Ocean View Masonic Lodge Elevator Fund, 176 Balview Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23503.
