Irene Wenglare Agles, 71, of 4516 Powell's Point Road, Virginia Beach, died March 7, 1995, in her home.
She was born in Clinton, Pa., and was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Caroline Wenglare, and her husband, Commander James H. Agles U.S. Navy (Ret.). For the past 20 years, she and her husband owned and operated Bay Bridge Antiques Appraisal Services. She was a member of the Appraisers Association of America, the Tidewater Quilters Guild and Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Alison Agles Fortgang, Karen Agles Teaford and Julie Agles; two sons, James A. Agles and John E. Agles; a brother and sister-in-law, Jules and Lyla Wenglare; a sister-in-law, Jane K. Agles; and four grandchildren.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church by Pastor Kenneth Carbaugh. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the funeral service. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday March 13, 1995, at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 4200 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455, or to the American Cancer Society. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
