LAURA B. ROBERTS

Laura Brown Roberts, 73, of the 1600 block of Griffin St., died March 5, 1995.

A native of Portsmouth, she was a retired food service employee of the Portsmouth public school system. She was a member of New Mount Olivet Baptist Church and a former member of the Usher Board and Choir, before her health failed.

Survivors include her husband, Alexander Roberts Jr.; one daughter, Brenda Robinson of Richmond; one son, Harold Banks of Richmond; one sister, Mary M. Patillo of Portsmouth; six brothers, George Brown, Paul Brown, William Brown, Roosevelt Newsome, all of Portsmouth; Rayfield Newsome of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Leon Newsome of Riveredge, N.J.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Rogers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
