Anita Christine Council, 77, of the 400 block of Pennsylvania Ave., a retired store manager, died March 6, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Council was born in Scotland Neck, N.C. She retired from the Union Mission after 19 years and was the widow of J. Edward Council.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret C. Rath of Actadena, Calif., and Patty DiVito of Virginia Beach; a son, John Edward Council of Norfolk; two sisters, Geneva Walston Hyman of Oak City, N.C., and Gertrude Walston Dickens of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two brothers, John H. Walston and Marion T. Walston, both of Scotland Neck, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Ted Bashford. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to noon Friday.
