A grocer who was recently cleared for shooting at and wounding two robbery suspects has been arrested for firing his gun again after another robbery at his store.
Mark Hazelgrove, 30, was charged with discharging a firearm in a public place, a misdemeanor. No one was injured in Tuesday night's shooting.
``The last time, I thought he shouldn't be indicted, but he can't keep doing that,'' Richmond Police Chief Marty M. Tapscott said.
On Jan. 31, Hazelgrove fired about 15 rounds from a semiautomatic pistol at a car carrying three juveniles, ages 14, 16 and 17. Two of the youths suffered minor bullet wounds. A grand jury last month refused to indict Hazelgrove on two counts of unlawful wounding.
Police said that Tuesday night, Hazelgrove was again robbed at gunpoint and again pulled a gun as the suspect left the store. This time, instead of shooting at the suspect, Hazelgrove fired four shots into the air. The suspect got away.
