Edna Towles Pruitt, 93, departed from this life Thursday, March 9, 1995, at Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mrs. Pruitt was a native of White Stone, Va., a devoted Christian and a member of Westhaven Baptist Church. She served in The Tidewater Rose Society and The Waterview Garden Club. She attended Judging School at VPI and specialized in designing table arrangements for weddings as well as other occasions. She received many ribbons for her skills. She loved flowers and enjoyed bringing others joy by presenting their beauty through her craft and talent.
She was the widow of Robert L. Pruitt Sr. She was predeceased by her son, Robert L. Pruitt Jr. and her grandson, Robert L. Pruitt III.
Survivors include one sister, Lottie Nelson of Virginia Beach; one loving daughter-in-law, Irmgard Pruitt; two granddaughters, Cynthia Ann Pruitt and her husband, Michael, of Bluemont, Va., and Sherri Lynn Charmatz and her husband, Jonathan, of Baltimore; and two great-grandsons, Robert Lucian Pruitt and Joshua Harry Charmatz.
The entombment service will be conducted on Saturday, March 11, at 11 a.m. in Meadowbrook Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. The family will join friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
