BRADY T. DRAKE JR.

Brady Thomas Drake Jr., 73, a former resident of the 8600 block of Morwin St., passed away March 8, 1995, at the Pinewood Inn Retirement Residence.

Mr. Drake was born in Norfolk and was the widower of Shirley Sawyer Drake. He was retired as a supervisor production controller from the Naval Air Rework Facility after 34 years. He was a member of Bayview United Church of Christ, where he was a deacon and trustee. He was a member of Norfolk Senior Center, 60 Plus Club; National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Local 66; AARP; Ocean View Beach Club; Ocean View Social and Democratic Club; and had worked with Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs for 13 years. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an aerial navigator.

Survivors include two daughters, Anne D. Rowe of Raleigh, N.C., and Carol D. Richardson of Norfolk; three sons, Robert D. Drake of Landenberg, Pa., Donald A. Drake of Alexandria, Va., and Thomas E. ``Ted'' Drake of Norfolk; a brother, Dr. Robert B. Drake, USAF (Ret.), of Pensacola, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Brady T. Drake III and Brian E. Drake.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bayview United Church of Christ by Dr. Richard Prince. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Bayview United Church of Christ. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
