Owen Lee Dowdy, 72, of Rosaer Circle, Virginia Beach, has changed his address to Heaven.
While he was here, he was an owner of Virginia Beach Salvage Exchange Inc. and served as a deacon of Elizabeth River Baptist Church.
He married Kate Etheridge 52 years ago and they worked hard and took care of their five children, Elinor Keys, Bobby Dowdy, Barbara Baker, Russell Dowdy and David Dowdy. Their family extended to include a daughter-in-law, Sharon Dowdy, and two sons-in-law, Daniel Keys and Donnie Baker. They were blessed with eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
The family will gather at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Monday, March 13th, 1995, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Elizabeth River Baptist Church on Sparrow Road, Chesapeake, by the Rev.
