ROBERT C. STONE

Robert Curtis ``Bob'' Stone, USN (Ret.), 64, of the 1100 block of Pascal Place, died March 12, 1995.

Mr. Stone was born in Covington, Va. He had retired from the Navy after 26 years. He was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church, Ocean View Masonic Lodge 335, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Shrine Temple, Veterans of Foreign War Post 4809, Hampton Roads Civil War Round Table, Sons of Confederate Veterans - George E. Pickett Camp 1459 Norfolk County Grays Camp 1549, Izaak Walton League of America Chapter 27 Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Eagle Haven Mens Golf Association, various bowling leagues throughout his life - the last being the Retired Classic League, Moose Lodge 610, Covington and Bear Den Hunt Club, Covington. His special interest in golf and hunting made his retirement years very enjoyable and full - notably at Little Creek's Eagle Haven Golf Course, with the Flyers Golf Association, as a volunteer marshall at the Anheuser-Busch Golf Tournament, at the Izaak Walton League, and especially the Bear Den Hunt Club in Covington. He was a Naval veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam wars.

Survivors include his wife, Reva W. Stone; a daughter and her husband, Rebecca S. Beale and Chip of Chesapeake; one granddaughter, Andrea Michelle Beale of Chesapeake; his father, Alonza M. Stone of Covington; three sisters and their families, June Scott of Covington, Anita Wright of Chandler, Ariz. and Sarah Brumfield of Waynesboro, Va.

Funeral service and burial will be held in Covington, Va. and handled by Arritts Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, Virginia Heights Baptist Church, 1251 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, Va. 23502. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
