Frances Doxey Carroll, 74, of Indian River Road, a lifelong resident of Princess Anne County, died March 12, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Carroll was born in Creeds, Va., and was the widow of Warren D. Carroll. She had owned and operated Carroll's Motor Service and Carroll's Produce with her husband. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and attended Charity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline C. Spruill; a son, Warren Dean Carroll; a sister, Mildred Doxey Whitehurst; three grandchildren, James D., Mike W. and Brian N. Spruill; a great-grandson, James D. Spruill Jr.; and her mother-in-law, Ava A. Carroll, all of Virginia Beach; and many other family members. Mrs. Carroll was predeceased by her parents, Enoch and Maude Morris Doxey.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Charity United Methodist Church by Pastor Thomas Markum Jr., Pastor Thomas P. Reynolds and Pastor Gary E. Heaton. Burial will be in Charity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
