Bernice Franklin Kirby, 81, of the 400 block of Douglas Ave., died Mar., 14, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Wilson, N.C., and was the widower of Susie Gray Kirby. He had retired with 21 years of service from the Virginia Chemical Company and was a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
Survivors include Ray G. Kirby Jr. of Portsmouth; and seven grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, N.C. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Joyner Funeral Home, Wilson, N.C., and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at 2003 Oregon Ave., Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to Port Norfolk Baptist Church, 401 Broad Street, Portsmouth, Va. 23707. Loving Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
