Margaret Dillon ``Maggie'' McDermott, 72, of Rt. 1, died March 14, 1995, at Albemarle Hospital.
She was a native of Vivian, La., and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Sloan S. ``Red'' and Ethel Mary Kilman Dillon and the wife of Fred P. McDermott.
Besides her husband, Mrs. McDermott is survived by two sons, James L. Coleman of Newport News and Walter R.E. Coleman Jr. of Arlington, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Barbara McDermott of Tucker, Ga.; two stepsons, Fred C. McDermott of Chesapeake and Patrick McDermott of Woodstock, Ga.; a brother, William King Dillon of Petaluma, Calif.; and one grandson, Christopher M. Jarman of Newport News. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lt. Col. Walter R.E. Soleman.
A chapel service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, N.C. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wilmington, N.C., at 1 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night following the chapel service.
