As a 19-year-old who is self-supporting, I am concerned about the budget deficit. Everyone gets on the defensive about what will be cut.
I live on a fixed budget of rent and food only. I collect no welfare even though I qualify for food stamps. I think the elderly can deal with a small cut in their checks if it means a balanced budget. We have all contributed to the deficit. So we all need to help.
I grew up worrying about how my generation was going to survive with this budget deficit.
I do not want my children having this unnecessary worry. We must hand them a clean slate. Tomorrow will bring yet another set of financial problems to add to the deficit. That is why we need to solve our problems now, not tomorrow.
I don't care if the Democrats or Republicans eventually pass this bill as long as it gets done.
