Bernice Franklin Kirby, 81, of the 400 block of Douglas Ave., died March, 14, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Wilson, N.C., and was the widower of Susie Gray Kirby. He had retired with 31 years of service from the Virginia Chemical Company and was a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
Survivors include Ray G. Kirby Jr. of Portsmouth and seven grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, N.C. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at 2003 Oregon Ave., Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to Port Norfolk Baptist Church, 401 Broad Street, Portsmouth, Va. 23707. Loving Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
