Ella V. Bazemore, 73, of Manteo Street, died March 11, 1995, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Bazemore was born in Windsor, N.C. She was a member of Fourth Baptist Church and its choir, nurses unit, Cora B. Scott Club and Birthday Club, and was a member of Beauty of the World Temple (NU)40, Order of Elks.
Survivors include a daughter, Geraldine B. Taylor of Ahoskie, N.C.; four sisters, Mary Barnes, Gracie Morgan and Goldie Cobb, all of East Orange, N.J., and Annie Johnson of Portsmouth; two brothers, Ernest Bazemore of East Orange, N.J., and John E. Bazemore of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fourth Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. James Seaton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
