Clarence Nathaniel Fitchett, 64, of the 1700 block of Atlantic Ave., a mortician and co-owner of Fitchett Funeral Home for 40 years, died March 12, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Fitchett was born in Norfolk County and was a member of Providence United Church of Christ and Providence Masonic Lodge (NU)189. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a graduate of Norfolk State College and McAllister College of Mortuary Science in New York City.
Survivors include a son, Corey Nathaniel Fitchett; a sister, Beatrice F. Harrell; and a brother, Floyd E. Fitchett Sr., all of Chesapeake; a grandchild; six nieces; seven nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Providence United Church of Christ by Rev. Dr. Alexander Jamison Sr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be viewed in Fitchett Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Saturday. The procession will leave from 1620 Atlantic Ave., Chesapeake.
