Margaret Murphy Cherry, 87, of the 1900 block of Edgewood Ave., died March 15, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Cherry was born in Portsmouth. She was the widow of Sidney Lee Cherry Sr., was a former member of Oaklette United Methodist Church and presently an active member of First Church of God, Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Cherry Upton of Norfolk; two sons, Sidney Lee Cherry Jr. and Thomas N. Cherry of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Peggie U. Kennedy, Debbie D. Van Horn, E. Russell Deel Jr., Lois C. McElhenie, Sidney L. Cherry III, Ronald L. Deel and Thomas B. Cherry; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Cherry Deel.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at First Church of God, Norfolk, by the Rev. Wayne Stout. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
