Hallett David Hobbs, 73, of Route 1, died Mar. 15, 1995, in his home.
A native of Chowan County, he was the son of the late John D. Hobbs and Alice Virginia Russell Hobbs. He was a self-employed painter and carpenter, a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and J. Marion Godfrey Jr. of Hertford, N.C.; three grandchildren, Tammi Lynne Godfrey, Melissa Anne Godfrey and Justin James Godfrey, all of Hertford, N.C.; and a brother, John A. Hobbs of Tyner.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Warwick Baptist Church Cemetery, Hobbs Family Plot, with the Rev. Robert Rattz officiating. Swindell Funeral Home, Hertford, is handling the arrangements.
