FRANKLIN E. HARPER JR.

Franklin E. Harper Jr., 34, of the 500 block of Fernwood Farm Road, a self-employed carpenter, died March 15, 1995.

Mr. Harper was born in Norfolk County. He was a member of New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Fernwood Farm Road; the Youth Missionary Department; and was an usher. He was an Army veteran, E-4.

Survivors include his father, Franklin E. Harper Sr. and two sisters, Alta Cherry and Marion L. Sutton, all of Chesapeake; a brother, Charles E. Stith Jr. of Virginia Beach; grandmother, Marion L. Dorman of Chesapeake; an uncle, Leon Brooks Sr. of Chesapeake; fiancee, Undrell Murphy of Grafton, Va.; godmother, Betty Taylor Bussell of Chesapeake; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Fernwood Farm Road, by the Rev. Walter E. Mitchell officiating and the Rev. Arthles Lynn eulogizing. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 584 Fernwood Farm Road, Chesapeake, at 12:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
