Gladys Gentry Simons, 71, of the first block of Alabama Ave., a retired precessor, died March 17, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Simons was born in Danville, Va., and retired from General Electric in 1983 after 21 years. She was the widow of Leon B. Simons and was a member of Women of the Moose Portsmouth Lodge (NU)898 for over 20 years.
She is survived by several nieces, including Cheryl Wright, with whom she made her home; several nephews; one great-niece; one great-nephew, Robert and LeeAnn Wright, both of Portsmouth; and a sister, Kathleen Sutter of Florida.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Meadowbrook Mausoleum Chapel, by the Rev. Donald Sheffield. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be receive friends at the residence. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, is in charge.
