MALCOLM L. PITTS JR.

Malcolm Lionel ``Mac'' Pitts Jr., MCBM, USN (Ret.), 53, died March 17, 1995, in his residence.

He was born in Richmond, Va., and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He worked for Wackenhut Corp. and also retired as a master chief boatswains mate in 1980 after 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Pitts; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia P. and EOD Spec. Darryl Hewitt of Ellenwood, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael T. and Sherry Pitts of Suffolk; his mother, Evelyn L. Pitts of Norfolk; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley A. and G. Larry Snapp of Kyle, Texas, and Patricia E. and Paul T. Meade of Norfolk; a grandson, Christopher Hewitt of Ellenwood, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Pastor Mark Schroeder and Pastor Peter Stiller. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors. The family will be at the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday and also at 1109 Little Bay Ave., Norfolk, at other times. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
