George D. Coleman, 69, of the 700 block of Cavalier Blvd., a retired general contractor, died March 15, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Coleman was born in Wilson, N.C., and was retired after 30 years as the owner and operator of George D. Coleman, General Contractor. He was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church and Mount Gilead Lodge (NU)102, Order of Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie M. Coleman; three daughters, Diana Herring of Chesapeake, Sharron Coleman and Joyce Dudley, both of Portsmouth; his mother, Katie P. White of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Noble Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie T. Northam Sr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, with Masonic honors. Viewing will begin at noon Sunday at Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at noon Monday.
