A jury has recommended 88 years in prison for a man convicted of robbing six businesses last year.
David L. Mack had been charged with committing the robberies between March 20 and April 3. He was convicted on all six counts Tuesday at the end of a two-day trial. The jury recommended the 88-year sentence Wednesday.
Mack also has been charged with other store robberies in Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.
Mack will be sentenced April 19. Prosecutors believe he will be eligible for the state's no-parole status because of the number of his convictions.
