ONE MORE DAY FOR WEARING OF THE GREEN

Bagpipes will be piping, emeralds will be flying and a broth of a lad named Kelly will be setting up soft drinks Sunday at the sixth annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The paraders - more than 125 units are expected - will toot and march and dance for more than a mile, starting at 2 p.m. at the Nags Head Pier and finishing at the Carolinian Hotel.

The parade is sponsored by Kelly's Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern, Beach 95-FM and Falcon Cable TV. Free Tyson hotdogs and Pepsi will be provided at the finish, and Mike Kelly will serve soft drinks and hotdogs under a tent behind his restaurant, where the Irish will be saluted by the Tidewater Pipe and Drum Corps, and the bands Neurocktix and Missionary Stew.

An emerald will be offered in a drawing by Riddick Jewelers, and five small emeralds will be floated among scores of balloons for sale. Proceeds will benefit the Outer Banks Hotline.

Among the entries will be horseback riders, firetrucks, marching bands, bicyclists, floats and lots of folks wearing green. by CNB
