As a Navy husband, I am distressed to read of a mother of two young children who has had those children taken away and been charged with felony child neglect while her husband is deployed. Although I am not familiar with the individuals or circumstances involved in this case, it appears that her biggest crime was simply being overwhelmed with the responsibility of caring for the kids by herself.
I have to wonder why nobody offered to help this young woman clean her house or take care of the kids. Is this the only solution, to take the kids away and break up the family? Couldn't the ``concerned'' neighbors, friends or family offer to assist in some substantial way instead of simply reporting the problem to an uncaring bureaucracy?
