Jimmie B. Coward, 47, a supervisor with Old Dominion Tobacco Co., died March 17, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Coward was born in Norfolk but had resided in Virginia Beach all of his life. He was a member of Norfolk Primitive Baptist Church and Veteran's of Foreign Wars - Military Circle Post. He was a retired 20-year veteran of the Army and served three tours in Viet Nam, as an MP with the Army SWAT Team.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Coward of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Ashley Nicole Coward of Virginia Beach; a son, Jason Aaron Coward of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Jean Fanney of Suffolk.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, by Elder Kenneth Windham. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
