Floyd Smith Jr., 73, of the 2200 block of Shipyard Road, died March 18, 1995, at home.
Mr. Smith was born in Norfolk County, Va. He was a retired butcher for T.O. Williams Meat Company and the owner and operator of Pine Grove Cemetery, Chesapeake. He was a member, deacon, and chairman of the Deacon Board of Fellowship Baptist Church, Chesapeake. He was superintendent of Sunday School and a Sunday School teacher while serving on many committees.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Griffin Smith; one sister, Mary Emma Griffin of Chesapeake; and one niece, Gloria Jean Jackson of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, March 22, 1995, at noon by the Rev. Percy Willis in Macedonia Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
