Grand larceny, 100 block Pleasant Ridge Court, March 9, someone removed eight sheets of plywood from a house under construction.

Felony, worthless check, 3000 block Godwin Blvd., March 13. Various people wrote checks, which were returned, to a store.

Lost or stolen tag, Western Avenue and Constance Road, March 9, driver observed that magnet mounted Virginia state tag was missing.
Stolen sticker, 200 block Pitchkettle Road, March 10, someone entered a vehicle and removed a Virginia state inspection sticker.
Attempted breaking and entering, 400 block Smith St., March 15, upon returning home, someone noticed the lock on rear door was broken. Nothing was removed.
Breaking and entering, arson, 100 block Mahan St., March 16, someone entered a residence, struck a person on the head, pushed her into the bathtub, doused her with kerosene and set her on fire.

Breaking and entering, 300 block East Washington St., March 9, someone forced entry into a cafe and removed $25 from cash register.
Breaking and entering, 100 block Mahan St., March 13, someone entered a residence through an unsecured back door and removed one freezer and one 19-inch Toshiba color TV. The resident was also struck with a glass bottle.
Attemped breaking and entering, 400 block Woodruff St., March 13, someone saw a person tear a rubber strip from a door frame of a house and attempt to gain access.
Grand larceny, 400 block Carolina Road, March 13, a former employee entered a business and allegedly removed $300.

Breaking and entering, 3200 block Longstreet Lane, March 10, someone broke into a house and removed a Super Nintendo and 10 games, two leather jackets, one pair of Karl Kani boots, one suede vest, one Sanyo CD player and 24 CD's.

Felonious assault, 1700 block Carolina Road, March 13, someone reported that a man pulled him out of his car and stabbed him in his left forearm after a disagreement.
