Amanda Sasser Clemmons, born July 10, 1900, in Old Dock, N.C., died March 16, 1995, in Shoreland Nursing Home, Whiteville, N.C.
She was the daughter of the late Jowell and Augusta Batten Sasser. She was the widow of the late Badger Clemmons of Halsboro, N.C.
Survivors include a son, Alfred Clemmons of Whiteville, N.C.; a daughter, Opal Clemmons Hill of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Virginia Beach, Va. She was predeceased by three sons, George Clemmons of Halsboro, N.C., Elgie Clemmons of Whiteville, N.C. and Roger Clemmons of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Virginia Beach; and two daughters, Rowena Gore of Old Dock, N.C., and Beatrice Stubbs of Delco, N.C. She had 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was conducted Saturday, March 18, 1995, at McKenzie Funeral Home Chapel in Whiteville, N.C., by the Rev. Raymond Cumber and the Rev. Guy Formyduval. Burial was at the Pierce Family Cemetery in Old Dock, N.C.
