Cassie Alexander Downing, 90, of the 900 block of Cabarrus St., died Monday in Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Downing is survived by her three daughters, Magdalene Dale of Edenton, Jessie Lee Harrell of Williamston and Virginia Johnson of Halifax, N.C.; three sisters, Violet Alexander, Martha Ashley and Edith Owens, all of Edenton; a brother, the Rev. E.C. Alexander of Edenton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Beaver Hill Cemetery by Dr. Kenneth Word. Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is in charge of arrangements.
