Last year's battle for management control of Virginia Power cost more than $447,000 in legal fees, according to a financial report by the utility's parent company, Dominion Resources Inc. The unprecedented public brawl between Dominion Resources' top management and executives at Virginia Power worried state regulators. They feared a mass exodus of senior managers and technical experts from the utility, which supplies power to 1.9 million Virginians. The feud also worried stockholders.
