EX-VISITORS BUREAU DIRECTOR OF NORFOLK TAKES FLA. JOB

William L. Lindley, former executive director of the Norfolk Convention and Visitors Bureau, will take on the Jacksonville, Fla., area's top tourism job. Lindley, 55, resigned from his Norfolk post last year. A news release noted that during his tenure, the office helped expand the city's advertising campaign and its hotel and tour business. The Norfolk position has not been filled. Lindley will become president of the Jacksonville and the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau on April 3. The Norfolk bureau is very similar in size to the Jacksonville bureau. Jacksonville's annual budget is $1.2 million, while Norfolk's is $1.4 million. Norfolk has 20 tourism staffers; Jacksonville has 13 full-time employees and two part-timers. by CNB
