JEDDIE B. BOYKIN

Jeddie Bryant Boykin, 83, of the 900 block of Oaklawn Ave., an elementary schoolteacher, died Wednesday, March 22, 1995, in Brandermill Woods Health Care Center in Chesterfield County.

Born in Warsaw, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marsella Vann Bryant and the wife of the late Joseph V. Boykin Sr. Mrs. Boykin was a member of First Baptist Church Bute Street and Phi Delta Kappa National Sorority Inc. She had taught in the Virginia Beach public schools.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Joseph V. Boykin Jr. of Chester, Va.; three sisters, Beulah Faison of Clinton, N.C., Atwood Brooks of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Goldie Bynum of Mount Olive, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Joseph V. Boykin III, Katherine Bryant Boykin and Rachel Aileen Boykin.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Bute Street, 412 E. Bute St., by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Riddick Funeral Service, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
