SMC LeRoy P. ``Steve'' Stevens, USN (Ret.), 69, of the 4500 block of John Jay Lane, died March 22, 1995, in a local hospital.
Born in Dunkirk, N.Y., he retired from the Navy after 30 years and also retired from Hogan Diesel of Virginia Inc. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church; Tidewater Lost Chord; and was a member at large of the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte M. Stevens; a son, David Stevens of Jamestown, N.Y.; a sister, Ruth S. Addington of Dunkirk, N.Y.; a brother, Victor E. Stevens of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two grandsons.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by Father John Peck, OSB. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, where the family will receive friends following the service. Military honors will be accorded at the grave.
