John Henry Hass, 46, a resident of Washington, D.C., and Church Creek, Md., died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, of complications associated with AIDS.
He is survived by his partner, Joseph Paul Davis; his father, Dr. Albert Pershing Hass; a sister, Catherine Hatfield; and two brothers, William and Robert Hass.
A graduate of William and Mary College, he served in the U.S. Navy at the Pentagon and had been employed for 21 years at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., where at retirement he was the director of Constituent Services.
John was a devout Episcopalian. He was a 15-year board member of International Student House fundraiser and an active philanthropist.
A memorial service will be held at Old Trinity Episcopal Church in Church Creek, Md. on April 22, 1995 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Food and Friends, P.O. Box 70601, Washington, D.C. 20024.
