James H. Brimmer, 83, of the 1800 block of Dominion Ave., a retired salesman, died March 22, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Brimmer was born in Norfolk and was retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Madeline Jones Brimmer. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men; past master of Elizabeth Masonic Lodge (NU)34; and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies; Elizabeth Chapter (NU)45 Order of the Eastern Star; and Elks Lodge (NU)38.
Survivors include a daughter, Nan B. Hall of Norfolk; a sister, Nettie Payne of Norfolk; and a granddaughter, Ashley B. Hall of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. G.C. Shepherd. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church Communion Fund. Masonic rites will be accorded in the funeral home by Elizabeth Masonic Lodge (NU)34.
