Evelyn Rose Reynolds Austin, 82, of N. Crestline Drive, Virginia Beach, in Elizabeth River Shores, died March 22, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Born in Roanoke, she was the daughter of the late Alma Fisher Reynolds and John Madison Reynolds and was the widow of Oscar A. Austin Jr., her husband of 58 years. She worked at Reynolds Hardware and Austin Electric. Mrs. Austin was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of Park Place United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy A. Carrier of Virginia Beach; a son, Richard L. Austin of Chesapeake; a brother, Julian R. Reynolds of Davenport, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Johnathan Austin, Christie Puckett, Dana Imes, Lesley Riddick, Jennifer Carrier and Natalie Carrier.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Joseph Carson and the Rev. Bob Clark. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
