One man stabbed another to death Thursday night when an argument escalated into a fight, police said.
The incident occurred about 6:40 p.m. in the first block of Calvary Terrace.
Police said the victim was stabbed in the upper chest with a folding knife that was recovered at the scene.
The victim was taken to Sentara Hampton General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His name was being withheld until relatives could be notified.
The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Norfolk for an autopsy.
The suspect was in custody and being questioned late Thursday, but he had not been charged and police did not release his name. by CNB
