NOMINEES NEEDED FOR ART AWARD THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR THE GLADSTONE M. HILL ART AWARD IS FRIDAY

The Portsmouth Museum and Fine Arts Commission is seeking nominations for the Third Annual ``Gladstone M. Hill Friend-of-the-Arts Award.''

The person being nominated should meet the following criteria:

Nominee should have demonstrated commitment to the arts and humanities through advocacy/appreciation, volunteerism, cash and/or in-kind contributions, membership in cultural organizations, purchase of art, attendance at performances and exhibitions in this community.

Award will recognize all areas of the arts and humanities to include visual arts, performing art, literary works, history and education in these areas.

Nominee may not be a current member of the Museum and Fine Arts Commission or on the staff of the Portsmouth Museums.

Nomination may consider an individual, family or organization which collectively meets the criteria. Only one award will be presented to the recipient(s).

Nomination/selection should reflect community orientation of the recipient's support of the arts and humanities rather than emphasis on one organization or art form.
